Well, I’m running behind today. So today’s post will be short and about something I think is worthwhile, but not important enough to write a long post about. Namely, I’m going to let you know about a charity contest being held by Vivint. They are having people vote on the charities that they feel are most worthy of support, and then they are giving grants based on the support those charities recieve.

Me, I’m supporting the It Gets Better Project. The it gets better project is an outreach by Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered adults to GLBT kids. GLBT kids face severe bullying at school and (sadly) often at home. Its bullying thats in the culture, coming from political leaders, from religious authorities, from teen support organizations (say, boy-scouts.) As a result, GLBT kids are more likely to run away and/or suicide.

While this is slowly changing, GLBT kids are suffering now, and the It Gets Better Project is reaching out to them to tell them that its not like what they are experiencing everywhere, and that it does get better when they are older. There is a future to look forward to.

That being said, there are a plethora of good charities to vote for. Check it out and vote for the charity of your choice.
